The Banks County Department of Family and Children Services continues to see an increase in applications for economic support in the form of Food Stamps.
DFACS continues to see rise in economic support applications
DFACS director Kenny Jarvis said on Wednesday, July 17, Food Stamp cases for the May were 882, up 30 cases from April and up 292 cases from a year ago. Eighty applications for Food Stamps were taken in May.
Banks County DFACS had a total of 2,356 active economic support cases in May. Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) cases totaled 35, family Medicaid totaled 918, adult Medicaid totaled 521, and childcare totaled 27 in May.
DFACS received 16 TANF applications in May, 57 applications for family Medicaid, four applications for childcare and 11 applications for adult Medicaid
The total expense for Food Stamps in the month of May was $291,366 and TANF totaled $7,455.

DFACS sucks lately. They are constantly dropping the ball and their clients because of pure stupidity. Some people have no choice but to use them and they continue to screw over the needy. Not to mention their failure to investigate complaints....I think if they can't handle what they're getting paid to do, someone else should step in.

exactly, and another thing if ex-employers would stop blacklisting employees to keep them from getting another job then people wouldn't have to go to these agencies and apply for help!
