Melissa Beatty

HOMER – Melissa A. Beatty, 48, died Sunday, June 21, 2009, at BJC Hospital in Commerce.

Born in Fulton County, she was the daughter of James L. Wiley of Homer and the late Martha T. Wiley and was a homemaker. Mrs. Beatty was preceded in death by a sister, Jan W. Moor.

Survivors in addition to her father, include her husband, John Beatty, Homer; a son, Jamie Beatty, Homer; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Pam Wiley, Commerce, and Jimmy and Terri Wiley, Carnesville.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 24, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Duane Eller officiating. Burial will be in the Nails Creek Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 23, from 6 to 8 p.m., and at other times at the home of Mr. James L. Wiley, 3080 Hwy. 51N, Carnesville.
