All four Banks County schools met the “Adequate Yearly Progress” (AYP) goals for the past year. The results were announced Tuesday by the Georgia Department of Education and the county’s primary school, elementary school, middle school and high school all met the AYP guidelines.

Congrats Banks County! Good work to the students, teachers, staff, board, and central office. I wish the paper could have printed this good news as the top headline as boldly as they did when they put a negative slant about the fall EOCT scores a little while back, but at least it was on the front page somewhere. Keep up the good work!
