The Town of Homer and Banks County are preparing for the 132nd annual Banks County Sunday School Celebration to be held beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, at Veterans Park in downtown Homer.
Area churches will present programs throughout the day, and a memorial observance and special recognitions of the person who traveled the farthest, the oldest present and youngest attending will be held.
Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Fried chicken will be provided and everyone is asked to bring a covered dish.
This annual celebration has been carried on by Banks Countians since 1877.
“Everyone is invited to come, bring a covered dish, lawn chairs and enjoy the day of fun and fellowship,” planners state.
