Men try to take money from collection box at restaurant

Banks County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating a suspicious vehicle reported at McDonald’s Restaurant, Highway 441 South, Commerce.
Deputies responded to the incident around midnight on Wednesday, Oct. 28.

A McDonald’s employee reported two while males in a white van pulled up to the drive-thru window and stated they were from Brinks and they were there to collect the money from the Ronald McDonald Foundation boxes.

The employee stated she did not allow the two men access to the boxes due to the fact the males did not have any identification. The employee also stated the money is never collected from the boxes at night.
