The Georgia Department of Natural Resources is taking applications for the annual Banks County Youth Deer Hunt set for Nov. 27-28 at Windmill Farm.
Applicants must be of hunting age but not over 16 and must be accompanied by an adult — someone at least 18. All participants, youth and adults, must possess a Hunter Education certificate before an application will be accepted. All other eligibility requirements and hunt rules are listed on the application.
Applications can be picked up at the Banks County Extension Office, Shuler’s Great Outdoors at Banks Crossing and at the Commerce Wal-mart store.
Applicants will be entered in a drawing for a chance to participate in the hunt.
All applications must be complete, signed and submitted to the Banks County Extension Office, 413 Evans Street in Homer, no later than 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov 11.
Applicants who are drawn for the hunt will be required to attend a safety and orientation meeting to be held on Saturday, Nov 14, at noon.
