Visits with Santa and holiday music are among the plans throughout Banks County during December.
LULA
A “Christmas in Lula” celebration is being planned in the Veterans Park. The celebration is set for 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12.
Hot chocolate, cookies, cider and face painting for the children will be available.
Local church groups will be singing carols in the park, in 30-minute intervals, throughout the event.
Businesses are planning to stay open late that night for an open house at their businesses.
All downtown businesses are asked to decorate their windows and buildings for the occasion.
Lula residents that want to be considered for Yard of the Month recognition are asked to get their yards decorated by Dec. 12.
MAYSVILLE
Christmas at the Maysville Public Library is set for 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10. There will be live Christmas music, story time with “Miss Donna” and a visit from Santa, Delana Lovell, library manager, said. This event is free and open to the public.
The library will have story time with “Miss Sherri” at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 11.
A free movie will be played at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19. Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas will be shown. The movie is rated PG.
The library will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 24 and 25, in observance of Christmas.
HOMER
Breakfast with Santa will be held in Homer from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Dec. 12 at the Banks County Primary School lunchroom.
A pancake breakfast will be served and will include pancakes, choice of sausage or ham and choice of beverage.
Children will enjoy sounds of the season, coloring and Christmas stories as they wait to visit with Santa and a couple of his elves.
Tickets for admission will be sold in advance for $7. Order forms for tickets will be sent home with all primary school and Pre-K students, as well as local preschools and child care centers. Tickets may also be ordered online at www.bankscountyband.org/fundraisers.html via paypal. Tickets will be on sale through December 7.

Local churches will be having a live nativity from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, at Alto City Hall.
