Deputies log 520,000 miles in 2009

Sheriff’s deputies patrolled Banks County logging over 520,000 miles, Chapman reported.
“In the year 2009, there were 40,498 case numbers with 1,426 cases opened for criminal investigations,” Chapman said.

Deputies served 1,316 civil papers and 420 subpoenas, Chapman added.

“During the year, deputies worked 458 accidents and assisted the Georgia State Patrol in 229,” Chapman said. “During the year, there were 687 accidents in Banks County with seven fatalities.”
