Baldwin tax bills will go out late again

City of Baldwin residents could be facing a late March or early April deadline for property taxes.

Baldwin Finance Director Betty Harper reported to the council last week that Banks County is currently in the middle of reviewing its tax digest.

“It looks like it may be the middle of January before we get the digest from Banks County,” Harper said.

This would mean that it would be late January or early February before the city’s property tax bills would go out in the mail, Harper advised. The tax bills are due 60 days from the date they are mailed.

Harper advised city residents could come in now and pay the same amount as last year and then come back in and pay the difference later after the new bill is received.
