As a homeowner in the county I would be happy to pay $70-100 dollars more per year to maintain important services. How many people really can't come up with that money? It's less than $2 per week people! That's one less pack of ciggarettes or one less can of dip! How about not getting a Big Mac for lunch everyday? Think about it!

I don't smoke. I don't eat out. I drive 65 miles one way to work because Banks County has no jobs that pay a decent wage other than the school system! My company does not give me a vehicle to drive to the supermarket or to do my chores! My job does NOT buy my gasoline. But I DO pay for children's education that I do not have, nor ever had! I am expected to pay an exact same rate as someone with 5 children! $70 - $100 to me is a LOT of damn money especially when I don't have the money to buy gasoline, much less food. So STFU, you're probably one of those teachers, or school admins who make a 6 figure salary!!!

There are only two people in the school system that make six figures. If you like the wages they make, do something about it. Go work hard for a four-year degree(or more), put in an application, put in much more than forty hours a week, and quit complaining. This is America, you have the right to do all of these things. Calling people morons and cursing isn't going to accomplish much more than making you look bad. We have hard-working teachers, administrators, and commissioners. Why not support them and look at the bright side things? I agree with the above respondant, it's very important to have the services that we enjoy.

Commissioner, I was glad to see you and your family come into my restaurant again this week. I expected what was coming. You again demanded a discount saying you were with "the county." When asked to sign your name to the ticket you simply put "BC Commissioner." Go ahead and raise taxes while you still ride around and demand a discount for yourself.

As a taxpayer I would like to know which commissioner "demands a discount". It seems to me that they should be willing to pay in full for themself and family just like everyone else. Your account of this transaction seems like an abuse of their position as a commissioner. I know that you wrote this as an anonymous comment, but I would like to know which commissioner makes this demand at your business while voting to raise our taxes.

As I am sure you are all aware. Police officers, Fire and EMS receive discounts at many of the local resturants some even allow them to eat for free. It is a courtesy of the busniess as a way to say thanks...... This particular commissioner used to be a firefighter. I was under the assumption that once you took the office of commissioner that you were no longer an employee of the fire department. AM I WRONG??????

To amonymous #2. You must not be from around here? We the people from Banks county are tried of the good old boy system, that's been going around here for a long time. Things have to change and for the good of Banks county citizens.The commissioners of this county don't listen to the people anymore, they listen to their own pockets. If they listen then why don't they get out and contact people and hear what they have to say instead of sitting on their butts! Tried of our crooked and one sided government.

Once a crook always a crook esp if they are holding any government office. These people like the commisioners are just dong a job for themselves lining their pockets and they don't care about the citizen of any community. As long as they see the $$$$'s lining thier pockets they don't care. I think they should be getting low wages like a lot of people get, who work hard to stretch their dollar from payday to payday while the commisioners eat steak and sleep easy. Lot of people go to bed every night hungry, and have sleepless nights wondering where their next meal is coming from. No more discounts should even be considered for any commisioner or politican. They should be able to pay just like the rest of us. Also the commisoners and other politicians don't want to listen to the American public. They are just out for themselves and don't give a damn who they hurt ! US !!!!!!
