Qualifying to be in April for July 20 election

Here's a rundown of what's on the ballot this election year:

•Two commission spots are up for grabs - those currently held by Rickey Cain, Post 1 (Bushville, Davids and Wilmonts); and Joe Barefoot, Post 3 (Golden Hill, Grove River and Poplar Springs. The qualifying fee is $450 for each post.

•Two Banks County Board of Education seats are up for election - those currently held by Benjamin David Ramsey, Post 3 (Golden Hill, Grove River and Poplar Springs), qualifying fee $36; and Herbert 'Bo' Garrison, Post 5 (Columbia, Washington and Wilmonts), qualifying fee $39.

•At the district level, voters will decide elections for U.S. Representative 10th Congressional District, State Senator 50th District and State Representative 28th District.

•At the state level, voters will decide elections for both governor and lieutenant governor this year. Other state elections include secretary of state, attorney general, commissioner of agriculture, commissioner of insurance, state school superintendent, commissioner of labor and two public service commission seats.

•The November 2 general election will include several non-partisan judicial seats, proposed constitutional amendments, proposed statewide referenda and other questions/issues.
