The Banks County Board of Commissioners is apparently facing a lawsuit or planning to file one. The board met in closed session for 30 minutes in an April 27 meeting to discuss “possible litigation.” No action was taken when the meeting was opened to the public and no information was given on the possible lawsuit.

In other business at the meeting, the commissioners discussed filling several vacation positions. A hiring freeze is in place but the BOC didn’t lift it. Instead, they agree to fill the positions that have been vacated.
A recreation department director and a motor grader operator are two of the positions to be advertised and filled. The county has already taken applications for a senior citizen’s center director and plans are to hire someone within the next month.

As for the two that got overlooked, I have been involved their for years and not once has either of them even spoken too or acknowledged my children!!
Act like you enjoy your job and take pride in your work and you wouldnt get overlooked when these type of situations arise. (Get off of the Gator when you get to the ball fields)
Not quite sure what you mean when you say the Segars guy obviously hates the Rec Department.
I read his website and all I can see is where he wants to better it. He wants to bring in sponsorships to offset taxes to you and I; is this what you see as hatred? He wants to allow sponsorship like a majority of all other counties for the betterment of the facilities, people, children; collect the money here, spend it here. What a concept, if the Rec Dept became self suportive it is possible no Tax dollars would be spent. Not sure I follow you?
On the other hand Mr. Reece asked the BOC to lock the horse arena and only allow certain people the use of it. He provided the chain and lock! Read the minutes of the BOC meeting (march 23, 2010) where the public would like to use the facilities they are paying for.
