The Banks County Sheriff’s Office responded to a chemical spill, involving a tractor-trailer, on Interstate 85 south bound at the Martin Bridge Road exit on Friday, Aug. 13.
The responding deputy stated he directed traffic until the scene was cleared by hazmat and the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Other incidents reported to the BCSO during the past week include:
•aggravated stalking at a Harmony Church Road, Baldwin, residence. The complainant stated a male at this location violated a temporary protective order (TPO).
•threats at a Henderson Road, Gillsville, residence. The female complainant stated her neighbor had threatened her.
•suspicious person on Highway 441 at Industrial Drive.
•threats at a Buckeye Point, Commerce, residence.
•debris in the roadway on Interstate 85 south bound at mile marker 149. The responding deputy advised the debris was moved onto the shoulder of the road for later pickup.
•medical call at a M T Trail, Commerce, residence. The responding officer advised he stood by while Banks County EMT personnel checked the complainant and then transported him to BJC Medical Center.
•dispute at Banks County Head Start, Evans Street, Homer. The complainant advised the responding deputy that her ex-husband removed her from the list to pick up their child and Head Start personnel would not allow her to receive the child. The deputy advised the complainant to seek legal counsel.
•suspicious person on Highway 59 at Mount Bethel Road. The responding deputy located a 29-year-old male at this location. The male advised the deputy he was trying to get to Interstate 85 exit 160. The deputy transported the male to exit 160 and dropped him off.
