The 38th annual Banks County Holiday Festival will be held Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 4-5, in downtown Homer. Among the plans for the two-day festival are arts and crafts booths, entertainment, activities for children and food concessions.
A parade will kick off the festival at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4. The grand marshals will be Bonnie Hill and Bonnie Johnson.
The parade will feature a Cabbage Patch Kid. Organizers have adopted a Lullaby Edition baby, which is a hand-stitched piece of folk art. Tickets for the Lullaby Edition baby are $2 each and may be purchased at Homer City Hall, Homer Drugs, Joy Shop in Commerce, The Purple Door in Homer and Logo Express in Commerce. The drawing will occur Sunday afternoon near the end of the festival.
