An Alto man was seriously injured in a one-vehicle wreck early Monday morning on Damascus Road in Banks County. Kevin Levi Allen, 33, was air lifted from the scene and transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, for his injuries.
Banks County Sheriff Charles Chapman reported that Allen was traveling north on Damascus Road in a 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe when he lost control and ran off the road, down an embankment and struck a tree. The call about the wreck came into Banks County 911 dispatch around 6:45 a.m.
“Allen left home at 5:30 a.m. going to work and he was supposed to call his wife back and he never called,” Chapman said.
It is believed that it was a little while after the wreck before it was discovered, Chapman added.
