Brad Smith will be the new District Attorney of the Piedmont Judicial Circuit. Although Donna Sikes carried Banks County, Smith took Jackson and Barrow counties to win the post. In Banks County, the results were: Donna Sikes 637, Brad Smith 490 For more details, see this week's Banks County News.

I'm disappointed that so many Banks County residents voted for Ms. Sikes after all of her nasty campaign tactics. Maybe Smith did better in Barrow and Jackson counties.
