Banks County courts are relocating this week

All court offices located in the Banks County courthouse will be moving to new locations while the facility is renovated.
All of the Banks County court offices, including Superior Court, clerk of court, Magistrate Court, Probate Court and the District Attorney’s office, are relocating their offices to 335 Evans Street, Homer, beginning Tuesday, Aug. 19.

All court offices will be closed on Friday, Aug. 15, and Monday, Aug. 18. The courts will resume normal operations on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the new location. The courts will be accepting critical court filings on Friday, Aug. 15, at the current Banks County courthouse location on Yonah-Homer Road and on Monday, Aug. 18, at the new location on Evans Street.
This is the first step in the move for the court offices. Once the current courthouse location has been remodeled, the offices will move back into the courthouse on Yonah-Homer Road.

All the county administrative offices located at the courthouse, including the Board of Commissioner, Planning and Zoning, Building Inspections, Public Utilities, Tax Assessor, Tax Commissioner and Voter Registration, will be relocating to the new Banks County Courthouse Annex building at 150 Hudson Ridge beginning Tuesday, Aug. 26.

All the administrative offices will be closed on Friday, Aug. 22, and Monday, Aug. 25. Offices will resume normal operations on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the new location.

Directions to the new location from Thompson Street are: turn onto Hudson Valley Drive (formerly Eagles Nest) and then turn right onto Hudson Ridge.
