Fans sang along, waved their hands in the air and even danced in the aisle at the recent Alabama concert at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Alpharetta.
With a huge red Alabama sign in the background, Randy Owen, Jeff Cook and Teddy Gentry took center stage to kick off the concert with “If You’re Gonna Play in Texas” and the crowd came alive. Everyone quickly jumped to their feet, yelling and clapping. The energy stayed high through the show, which included several encores.
The first few numbers Cook switched back and froth from a neon green fiddle to a guitar with ease. He’s a great musician and the audience loved him. Owen’s vocals are as amazing as ever, and Gentry also switched guitars with perfection.
The show included many of their hits and fan favorites with the audience often singing along with the long-time band.
The band released “Alabama & Friends” last year.
