A sewage spill has been reported in Lula.
City manager Dennis Bergin said the sewage spill was on Cater Street 200 feet west and Athens Street 200 feet north at a manhole.
The preliminary estimate of volume discharged in a minor tributary of Hagen’s Creek is 3,280 gallons. The initial review of the transmission line shows that an unknown object caused the back-up at the manhole, Bergin said.
City work crews have corrected the blockage and continue to monitor the flow conditions for performance and are monitoring the environmental conditions surrounding the site.
