The Banks County High School football team had plenty of yardage Friday night in its Region 8-AA opener against Riverside.
Unfortunately, the Leopards were unable to keep track with the visiting Eagles' spread offense and fell 56-28 in the region opener for both schools in a matchup played in Homer. Justin Beasley rushed for 216 yards for BCHS (0-2, 0-1) with Demetric Dempson adding 96 on the ground.
The Leopards will host Dawson County this Friday in another 8-AA contest at 7:30 p.m. See this Thursday's edition of The Banks County News for a complete report on the Riverside contest and a preview of the Dawson County game.
