A Wally Drive, Commerce, man reported to the Banks County Sheriff’s Office that a neighborhood dog bit a child in his yard.
The man told a deputy that the dog stays in the neighborhood and children play with it. He doesn’t know who the dog belongs to. He told the deputy that he shot and killed the dog after it bit the child.
The child has visible bite marks and deep lacerations to the right side of his face, the deputy noted.
Other incidents reported to the sheriff’s offie last week includes the following:
•burlgary at a Hwy. 326, Commerce, address when a woman said someone broke the lock off of her storage building. She said she isn’t sure if anything was taken because she has not been in the building in a long time.
•custody dispute between a Homer couple.
•a juvenile was reportedly drinking at alcoholic beverage at the high school. The incident was handled through school discipline.
