The Banks County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged Martin Elvis Hanley, 52, Hebron Road, Commerce, with bigamy on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
Banks County Sheriff Charles Chapman said Hanley’s wife filed the complaint with the BCSO. Chapman said Hanley, married for some years to his wife, went to Sevier County, Tenn., over the last couple of months and married another woman.
After checking all the marriage documents, the BCSO obtained an arrest warrant for Hanley. Hanley was booked into the Banks County Jail and released on bond pending his appearance in court, Chapman said.
