Ok here I go putting my two cents in! I can't seem to grasp just who votes in this county anymore. We all wsby change but yet we keep the same ole retards in office? This county needs a change maybe even a good house cleaning? Our tax office is already 6 months behind and yet we still out the same idiot right back in there? Everyone whines about the school and Neal brown has never done his job there but what do you do? Hello out in for yet another round! This town is going to grow and maybe not just around us. We need postive growth so first we have to get rid of the good ole boys!its time for a change in our town before we become even more stone age! I know I am going to be bashed for this but oh well let it begin. When its all said and done we all know I am right. I have lived here many years and watched postive growth happen all around our town. These good ole boys keep letting the jobs grow in Jackson co and then what do they do? Of course fuss about how we don't have more taxpayers to foot the bill. Its funny how banks crossing is still growing away from banks right on in to Jackson co. Soon they will call it commerce and it be more than true! So get mad at me and bash my point but oh well the truth hurts. Let's keep voting in the same old people. And end up like maysville!

I have been in banks co for around 15 years and all I hear is crying about how so and so doesnt do their job! But yet voters still vote them in and in! I see the results and yet I am outraged about how we vote for 5 comm. but yet no one wants a change in this town? I cant see how we vot mrs. ausburn in once again when her office is already screwed up enough. And neal brown what nare we thinking? name one awsome change he has made? THESE TWO DO NOTHING BUT DRAIN US TAX PAYERS! I want change in this town we are sitting back and letting thease idots ruin our town. The good ole boy method needs to stop before we become like maysville! I have sit back and watched commerce take over banks crossing and the growth is headed that way and not ours! POSTIVE GROWTH IS SOMETHING WE NEED HERE DOES ANYONE CARE? I care about our town my kids are going to have to pay for this senseless election! how about yours?

Idiots? That's pretty harsh. Could you do better? I'm content with this county, and I've been here a long time. How about you list specifics of how you feel these two haven't done their job instead of calling them names and very vaguely saying they "drain us taxpayers". I don't know either person, and both of your posts reek of ignorance. Be more specific. What kind of "change" do we need? You sound an awful lot like someone this country has elected into the oval office- they speak of change, yet offer no specifics.

i agree with you. if those two think they can do better why dont they run for office. Its not their fault that the commissioners dont want banks to grow. i like to see some kind of industry come in and offer the residents of banks jobs. also to call those two people idiots is crazy. you ought to live in madison county where the taxes are 2 o3 3 years behind, if u want to talk about idiots.

In order to make an educated decision when voting, it is necessary to take into consideration the ability of each candidate to perform the duty of the job they are seeking. The importance of this cannot be overly emphasized, whether it is a national election or a local campaign. Do not expect every candidate to "lay it on the line" when trying to build up their character, especially when an incumbent has things they had rather not discuss. There is available to the public the financial statement of every governmental branch in Banks County. Don't scream or refer to anyone as an "idiot" until you have researched and know all the facts. The BOE in Banks Co. has had to go to a financial institution and borrow money to operate time and time again. They have recently had to pay $60,000 interest on their last note simply because the funds were not made available to them by the tax commissioner's office. In fact, they are, as of this writing (Nov 12), $864,000 in arrears from the tax commissioner's office. Guess who paid the $60,000 interest ? Go look in the mirror! Mrs. Ausburn issued 780 Fi Fes in the past week or so, to collect on delinquent taxes, some of them dating back to 1989, meaning some of these uncollected taxes are nineteen years old. I'm sure some of these people have either moved, been forclosed on, or had to file bankruptcy in this time, meaning these taxes are uncollectable. As you all know, the tax commissioner recently reported to the sheriff's department that there was a deposit error of $14,600. In the same statement, she said it showed up on her "daily deposit". This deposit was made in late July. Conveniently witholding this information until the day after the November election is absolutely inexcusable, although it was good political strategy. I commend the Banks Co. Sheriff's Dept. for immediately notifying the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. By writing this, I'm not trying to make any enemies. In fact, if more people were interested in harnassing the full circle of the importance of their voting decision, there would be no reason for the writing of this letter. The truth is, I feel bad about writing this letter, for I hope I didn't insult anyone for not doing their homework before casting their ballot in the recent election. Hank Taylor

All I have to say is if you have problems with our elected officials run yourselves. Most people do not know what it takes to be in these positions. If you think you could do a better job than you should run. That is the beauty in democracy we can elect our own officials. So if you think you could stand the slander and offensive remarks then run for office and see how it feels. You shouldn't judge someone till you walk a mile in their shoes. I do not believe any of you could make that mile.
