The Banks County Planning Commission recommended approval Tuesday night for a conditional use permit for an auction house to locate at Banks Crossing. The planners also tabled auction for an acupuncture clinic to locate at Banks Crossing.
The request from Commerce Crossing, located at Pottery Factory Drive, is for an auction house to be located in one of the stores at the shopping center. The planners unanimously recommended approval.
The Banks County Board of Commissioners will take action on the request when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the new courthouse annex, located at 150 Hudson Ridge.
At Tuesday’s planning commission meeting, it was reported that the auction house would locate at 320 Pottery Factory Drive in the space formerly occupied by Furniture Liquidators. Auctions would be held once or twice a month.
“We’re trying to bring business into the Banks Crossing area,” said Alicia Andrews, manager for Commerce Crossing.
The planners tabled a request from Kyonng Burgos to locate an acupuncture clinic at a new shopping center on Hwy. 441 at Banks Crossing. The request for a conditional use permit for the business was tabled until more details are provided in the letter of intent. Planners said the paperwork submitted was “too vague.”
In other business at the meeting Tuesday night, the planners recommended approval for a request from Billy Poole for a variance for setbacks for poultry houses for newly drawn property lines at 455 Damascus Road.
