The Hall County Sheriff's Office, Criminal Investigation Division, is investigating a shooting that occurred on Harris Road in East Hall County that left a Lula man hospitalized.
Deputies responded to a report of a shooting on Harris Road off White Hall Road in East Hall. Upon their arrival, they discovered that 61-year-old, Larry D. McDougald, of Lula had shot his nephew, 20-year-old, Gavin Passmore, also of Lula, with a small caliber handgun in the leg during a domestic dispute.
The victim was transported to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg.
McDougald was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was booked into the Hall County Jail and is currently being held without bond.
The incident remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff's Office, Criminal Investigation Division.
