GAINESVILLE – Anita Louise Jarrett McConnell, 64, of Gainesville died Sunday, January 4, 2009, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following a brief illness.
She was born on August 14, 1944, in Fulton County , the daughter of the late Foster Lee and Pearl Jarrett Jr. and Millan Jarrett. She was a graduate of Fulton High School, Piedmont School of Nursing, with a bachelor’s degree from the Georgia School of Medicine. The past 20 years she had owned and operated Joyland Child Development Center in Gainesville. She was a member of Riverbend Baptist Church of Gainesville.
Survivors include her best friend and loving husband David Arnold McConnell; sons and daughters-in-law, David Arnold (Artie) McConnell Jr. and Maria McConnell, Sean Lee and Emily McConnell, Derick Stephen and Tina McConnell; grandsons, David Christopher McConnell III and Derick Foster McConnell, Jr.; brother and sister-in-law, Foster Lee and Anna Jarrett III.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, in the Chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home with the Revs. Matt Wethington and Cecil Holcomb officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 6. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
