GILLSVILLE – Evelyn Jackson Bussey, 73, died Friday, March 6, 2009, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, following an extended illness.
Born on April 9, 1935, in Hall County, she was the daughter of the late Harry T. and Vicie Bell Barnes Jackson. She was retired from Gainesville Textile Mill and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Mrs. Bussey was preceded in death by her husband, Walter O. Bussey Jr.; son, Michael Jeffery Dorsey; and sister, Essie Mae Huffman.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Barry Shane and Kellie Ann Dorsey, Oakwood, Earl Dwight Dorsey, Buford; sisters, Dorothy Marie Parker, Cleveland, and Ann J. Hulsey, Jackson, S.C.; brother, Thomas Thearon Jackson, Baldwin; granddaughters and husband, Crystal and Jeff Richards, Gillsville, Ashley Michelle Dorsey, Gainesville; grandsons, Michael Joshua Dorsey and Earl Chancey Dorsey, both of Gillsville; grandchildren, Tabitha Whelchel, Bronson Dorsey, Megan Dorsey, Evan Dorsey, Freddy Dorsey, Neal Dorsey, Mackenzie Dorsey; very special great-grandchildren, Hope Veal, Amber Richards and Logan Taylor; several other great-grandchildren; and best friend, Kathleen Dorsey, Gillsville.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 9, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with the Revs. James Duncan and Ralph Smith officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of arrangements.
