MT. AIRY – Ellene Loudermilk Wilbanks Perry, 85, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at The Oaks at Scenic View, following an extended illness.
Born in Habersham County on October 10, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Rosa LaCount Loudermilk. She was a very active and devoted member of Glade Creek Baptist Church who loved gardening, sewing and flowers. She was retired from Habersham Mills with over 25 years of service. Mrs. Perry was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Winslow Wilbanks; second husband, Carl W. Perry; grandson, Todd Wilbanks; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Winston and Catherine Wilbanks, Ralph William and Effie Wilbanks, Bobby Ray Wilbanks, all of Mt. Airy, Roy Lee and Cora Lee Wilbanks, Greenwood, S.C., Johnny Ervin and Juanita Wilbanks, Lula, and Ernest Homer Wilbanks, Homer; stepson and spouse, Travis and Barbara Perry, Mt. Airy; brothers, Garrison W. Loudermilk, Eaton, and James Loudermilk, Mt. Airy; sisters, Wilma Edwards, Toccoa, Dorothy Lathan, Clarkesville, Margie Nichols, Alpharetta, and Eunice Smith, Mt. Airy; 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 12, in the Glade Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Johnny Thomas and Michael Justus officiating. Burial was in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Anthony Cook officiating.
