Banks County Sheriff Charles Chapman said on Monday Banks County Sheriff’s Office investigators are investigating the theft of a 1996 Dodge Ram 3500 flatbed truck and a trailer from a resident on Silver Shoals Road, Lula.

Banks County Sheriff Charles Chapman said several calls came in to the Banks County Sheriff’s Office around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, reporting that a black bear had been struck by a car on Interstate 85.

A South Carolina man was arrested on drug charges Tuesday afternoon, May 5, following a traffic stop by a Banks County Sheriff’s Office deputy.

Banks County Sheriff Charles Chapman said a BCSO deputy stopped a 1999 Pontiac driven by Roscoe Emil White, 27, 310 Carr Road, Piedmont, S.C., for weaving over the roadway.
The deputy had White out of the vehicle but he then got back in the car and tried to leave, Chapman said. [Full Story »]
