A man recently called the Maysville Police Department to complain about his ex-girlfriend who won’t stop calling him. He said that one day she called him 70 times. She has also visited his parents to try to get in contact with him and now she calls them. She also calls his place of work.
Other incidents recently reported to the Maysville PD were:
•custody dispute on Homer St. where a man complained about his ex-girlfriend not returning their child to him.
•harassing phone calls on Oak Alley where a man said that his ex-girlfriend will not stop trying to call him. She even calls his parents and his place of work.
•information on W. Freeman St. where a woman complained about people taking her picture while she was shopping.

Fatality in wreck at I-85 exit ramp
A Franklin County man died after crashing into a tractor trailer parked on an off-ramp on I-85 on Tuesday.
Harry Harold White II, 65, Canon struck the tractor trailer in the rear, according to reports.
“Banks County Fire/EMS were dispatched to I-85 North bound on the exit ramp to Hwy 63, Martins Bridge Rd. on a reported vehicle accident with injuries,” Banks County fire chief Steve Nichols reports. “Upon arrival, units found a car wedged underneath a tractor trailer that was stopped on the ramp. The passenger vehicle had struck the tractor trailer in the rear and presented with substantial damage.”
White was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS personnel and the Banks County Coroner’s Office. No other injuries were reported.

Shoplifting reported at Banks Crossing business
A shoplifter at a Banks Crossing business was reported to the Banks County Sheriff’s Office last week.
An employee of the store said that a man took two pair of jeans from the store and then tried to get a refund for them at customer service.
In another shoplifting report, an employee of the same store said that someone took several items in the self check-out line and did not scan them. The items included bubbles, popcorn, chicken, shorts and sandals.

•a Wells Road, Homer, man said that he returned home to find his father’s truck missing from the barn.
•illegal use of a credit card belonging to a Maysville man.

A man said his Chevrolet Blazer was stolen while he was inside a convenience store on Hwy. 441 at Banks Crossing.
The man said the key was not inside the vehicle but it was missing when he returned to the parking lot.
In another theft report, a woman said her boat was missing from her Hwy. 59 residence. She said the boat was later found in the woods on Chamber Road, where he had been covered with tree branches in an attempt to hide it.

Road rage reported at Banks Crossing
An incident of road rage was reported to the Banks County Sheriff’s Office last week.
A woman reported that she was turning right at Cracker Barrell when a gray truck went into her lane. She told a deputy with the Banks County Sheriff’s Office that she blew her horn at the man driving the truck.
The woman said the man then rolled down his window and called her a “stupid lady” and said that he didn’t go into her lane. She said the man then got out of his vehicle and began using profanity toward her and her juvenile niece. She said got out of her vehicle and the man slapped her, knocking her sunglasses off.
The deputy found the man driving the truck at Cracker Barrel and he denied slapping the woman. He said that the woman blew her horn at him and “gave him the finger.”
In another report of road rage, a man said when he got off Exit 149, a car pulled in front of him and motioned for him to pull over. He said he rolled down his window and the other motorist began yelling at him. He said the man also picked up a hard hat in his vehicle and hit him with it. He said the man also threatened to “put a cap in me.”

Sheriff tackles problem with distracted drivers
Banks County Sheriff Charlton Speed addressed the problem with distracted drivers with a traffic stop last week at Banks Crossing.
Sheriff Speed states: “Even after warning the public through social media and the radio about our distracted driving operation, the following violations were ticketed today, 13 Distracted Driving, three seatbelt violations, two people running a red light, one person passing a school bus and one expired license”
The sheriff added: “We will continue to conduct these types of traffic operations. In the future, we may not advertise. Drive safe and arrive alive.”

A Banks County man threatened his family during a domestic dispute at a Lula residence where he reportedly threatened to “kill everyone and burn down the house.”
The man had been using methamphetamine and drinking alcohol, according to reports give to the Banks County Sheriff’s Office. The man had two guns on him at the time of the dispute and reportedly continue to make threats toward his family and any law enforcement officers who came on the property. He shot in the air several times and broke the windows out of his vehicle. No one was injured during the dispute.

Burglar breaks into Alto building
A Nix Road, Alto, man reported to the Banks County Sheriff’s Office that someone broke into a building on his property and stole several items. The man said that the locks on the door of the building had been cut off. Items taken included a power stroke generator, tile saw, router, metal detector and rigid chop saw.
