Last Wednesday after another edition of the newspaper you are now reading had been completed, my better half and I made embarked on our weekly ritual of going to lunch.

Ray McBerry must have felt like a man without a party in 2006.
McBerry challenged Governor Sonny Perdue during the primary but you wouldn’t have known it from the state Rep-ublican Party, who pretended the challenger didn’t exist.

With the primaries for the 2010 state election still well more than a calendar year away, one might not be giving too much thought to Georgia political races at this point.
It was during the fall of 2006 at an away Banks County High School football game that I had the honor of having my first extended conversation with “Brother Jim” McLendon.
By the time this paper arrives in your hands, the campaign of 2008 will be over.
