It was a fourth place finish for the Banks County grapplers this weekend at the Oconee County Duals. It was a battle for seventh place Monday morning as Banks County completed the third annual Holiday Classic sponsored by Community Bank and Trust. It was not the finish Banks was hoping for before Christmas break, but the Lady Leopards took seventh place in the Community Bank and Trust Holiday Classic this past weekend. Injuries took it toll on the Leopards this past weekend at the Morgan County Christmas Classic. Banks County finished seventh out of 13 teams while missing several starters, according to coach Kasey Hanley. It was a big one-sided victory for the Lady Leopards as Banks County girls spanked the Commerce Lady Tigers 52-16 last Friday. The varsity Lady Leopards have two upcoming home games that coach Jerry King wants to put in the win column. Banks County is 1-2 after falling to Rabun County last Friday, 68-34. “We were beaten pretty badly by Rabun,” said King. “They played a hard full-court press that we prepared for in practice but didn't execute well in the game.” ...
