While Banks County schools were on spring break, the BCHS diamond Leopards were hard at work on the field. Banks County got started last week with a 12-1 win over Walnut Grove and finished out the week with a doubleheader win over Riverside. The Banks County Park and Recreation Department’s opening day ceremonies are this Saturday, April 3. The BCPRD kicks off the baseball and softball season at 10 a.m. with a parade from the Banks County Elementary School to the number one ball field along Thompson Street. Banks County’s diamond Leopards improved to an 8-5 record this past week as the teams picked up a doubleheader win over Rabun County. It took a few weeks into the season, but the Banks County boys’ soccer team has finally gotten their legs under them and added some wins. The Banks County clubmen had a rough week last week as the boys lost rounds to Habersham and Oglethorpe, but added a win over East Jackson. It was a big win for the Banks County Leopards’ boys tennis team, as they picked up a subregion win over East Jackson on Monday.
