King named BCHS athletic director

Little Lady Leopards’ basketball camp offered

Banks County High School Lady Leopards’ head coach Jerry King is hosting the annual Little Lady Leopards’ basketball camp May 31-June 3 at the high school. The camp will be from 8-noon each day and is for upcoming third through sixth graders. Cost per participant is $60 (two players together $100.) Make checks payable to BCHS and turn in to the high school office, or to a Lady Leopard varsity player.

Campers will take part in individual and team fundamental drills for offense and defense, play games and compete in contests. Each girl participating will receive a free camp T-shirt. Contest winners will receive prizes and awards while all participants receive admission into a varsity basketball game during the 2011-12 season. Concession stand will be available each day of camp.

The first day of camp is crazy sock day, and campers are encouraged to wear their craziest socks.

The Banks County golf season officially ended last week as the Lady Leopards were represented at the state tournament. Cara Gowder brought back a seventh place finish shooting an 82 in the state round, hosted at Long Shadow Golf Course.
