The Banks County Board of Commissioners met in closed session for four hours Friday to discuss “potential litigation.” No action was taken when the meeting was open to the public. It has not been revealed who is threatening a lawsuit against the county but “potential litigation” has been discussed in several recent closed-door meetings.

Banks County employees will soon be able to join the Habersham Federal Credit Union. In a unanimous vote by the board of commissioners on Tuesday, BOC chairman Milton Dalton has been authorized to sign a letter seeking to participate in the Habersham Federal Credit Union.

The Banks County Board of Commissioners began a review of the proposed budget for 2010 at a called meeting on April 16. A final budget figure has not been determined but it is projected that the total will be down seven to eight percent over the current budget.
