The Banks County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following burglaries and thefts during the past week:

•burglar alarm at a West County Line Road residence.

•theft at a Highway 441, Commerce, location.

•alarm at a Duncan Road, Commerce, residence. The responding officer reported all windows and doors secure and he couldn’t make contact with anyone at this location. [Full Story »]

Two children killed in murder-suicide

A man killed two young children before shooting himself Monday afternoon on a secluded road in Maysville.

Murder-suicide has been ruled in the death of Keith Jerome Gresham, 36, and two children, Keion, age 7, and Keionte, 4. Gresham apparently shot himself after killing the two children. Gresham was found inside a vehicle in a secluded area off of Old Woods Bridge Road, a dirt road between Maysville and Jefferson. [Full Story »]
